The NFPA recommends that for your safety, you have your chimney inspected at least once every year.

Chimney Safety Institute of America

The chimney is often one of the most neglected parts of your home. Out of site, out of mind. Yet your chimney is responsible for venting poisenous and flamable gases away from your home.

Most of the chimneys that we service in northern NY vent water vapor-producing appliances such as gas and oil-fired furnaces, boilers and water heaters. Over time, this acidic exhaust gas causes damage to masonry chimneys. As a result, poisenous gases can enter your home. This is a major health hazard that can be prevented with an annual inspection of your chimney. Here is an example of what you can't see from the ground!

We also service wood stove and fireplace chimneys which are even more susceptible to build-up of dangerous creosote residue. These chimneys should be inspected and cleaned at the beginning of the heating season and depending on the frequency of usage, more often.
